Currently, low-income families in the following six counties are now eligible for State Individual Assistance due to a Governor's Disaster Proclamation: Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Pottawattamie and Woodbury.
|

Small, non-farm businesses in 14 Iowa counties are now eligible to apply for low interest disaster loans from the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Eligible primary counties are Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Pottawattamie and Woodbury; eligible neighboring counties are Cass, Cherokee, Crawford, Ida, Montgomery, Page, Plymouth and Shelby. On June 28, Gov. Terry E. Branstad sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, requesting a Secretarial Disaster Designation for six Iowa counties due to damage caused by recent flooding along the Missouri River and its tributaries: Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Pottawattamie and Woodbury. Secretary Vilsack signed an agricultural disaster declaration on July 8. This designation also includes the contiguous counties of Cass, Cherokee, Crawford, Ida, Montgomery, Page, Plymouth and Shelby.
